Vet Med Committee

Purpose

To develop protocols and establish best practices for appropriate medical care in sheltering and disaster response. To create a multi-medial educational platform to create animal specified, basic medical awareness and training for volunteers, first responders, and other personnel involved in disaster response.

2019 Priorities

1. Develop online disaster response and preparedness tools (checklists, resource contacts, etc.)
2. Review and update SOP’s for disaster response and sheltering medical monitoring and care. 
3. Work with the training and event committees to develop a potentially fund-raising medical training platform.
