Communications Committee

Disaster response: save the puppies!

Purpose

To develop communications standards that ensure clear and consistent sharing of information within and outside of the organization.  To develop a strong, clearly defined and quickly recognizable organizational brand. Projects would involve the website, social media, media releases, photography, public education and presentations, community outreach, and communications policies and procedures during disasters and non-disaster times.

2019 Priorities

  1. Develop the 2019 reorganization announcement and branding plan
  2. Develop standard communications plans specifically for:  the organization (internal), the response community (external), the general public (external)
  3. Enhance and standardize the existing response communications plan, including the animal response duty officer and call out procedures, local emergency operations plans (LEOP), the Kansas Response Plan (KRP) and memorandums of understanding (MOUs) with response partners.
