Carla is the current President of the Kansas Animal Control Association. She has been an Animal Control Officer for the Leawood Police Department since 2010. During the course of her career Carla became interested in helping animals in disasters and is the Vice-President of the Kansas City Metro Animal Response Team and a responder and instructor for the Kansas City based Emergency Equine Response Unit/Animal Search and Rescue Team. Carla also volunteers for Code 3 Associates, a national disaster response team that provides Technical Animal Search and Rescue teams during large scale disasters nationwide. Carla started her career in animal welfare as a Zookeeper at the Kansas City Zoo. Carla also spends as much time as she can with her Husband, three children, two dogs and her cat.
